The United Youth Development Organization (UYDO) was established in 2008 by Espen Berg in response to a strong belief that young people across the globe are not only tomorrow's decision-makers, but they are also in the unique position to make a positive difference in the fight against poverty and injustice on a local, national and global level.

UYDO is setting a new global standard in empowering young people in both developing and developed countries by providing small loans to young entrepreneurs in sub-Saharan Africa through our young members, equipping entrepreneurs and Field Partners with the tools to succeed and engaging young people all over the world to learn about important global issues.

UYDO works with reputable and highly experienced Field Partners on the ground to ensure the quality of our work is reaching an excellent standard. Our Field Partners have high success rates in providing entrepreneurial services to young people. UYDO and the Prince’s Trust Youth Business International (YBI) partnered in 2009 and loans, in conjunction with training and business support, are being provided by Field Partners from the YBI Network.

UYDO.org is the first peer-to-peer microfinance platform driven by young people for young people with thousands of members from more than 35 countries.
