Yes. Repayment is subject to exchange rates at the lender’s own risk. If exchange rate fluctuations diminish a lender’s return on investment, UYDO cannot be held responsible. Funds will not be topped up in the event of exchange rates diminishing returns.

Yes. However, UYDO tries to ensure that our young entrepreneurs don’t have to wait too long which is why UYDO aims to provide the remaining amount of funds needed through its Global Fund after the entrepreneur has been on the website for 2 months.

We try to keep our operational costs to an absolute minimum, which is why a majority of our team are involved as volunteers. Our funding for operational costs tends to come from Gift Aid, grants, corporate sponsorships, tipping, and large individual donations.

It can take the entrepreneur anywhere between 3 to 8 months to repay the loan depending upon the agreement they have with the Field Partner.

As soon as the young entrepreneur is fully funded, UYDO transfers the funds on the last day of every calendar month.

The current repayment rate is 95%.

There are some charges associated with transferring the funds, but we try our best to ensure that as close to 100% of your donation will reach the entrepreneur.

By providing a loan, young entrepreneurs have the opportunity to start a business, receive business training and support, earn an income and lift themselves out of poverty.

All funds invested are kept within the UYDO system. While you don’t physically get the funds returned to you, you will get them returned ‘digitally’ to your UYDO Page after the young entrepreneur has repaid the loan. You can then re-invest the funds into other entrepreneurs, creating a truly sustainable and long-term solution to ending the poverty cycle. To see how the repayment cycle works, click here.
